Worship

Worship is a vital part of the spiritual life of our school.  In this section, we have a small snapshot of some of the acts of worship and spiritual learning the children encounter in school.  We have a children's worship group - The Worship Warriors - who lead classroom worship and details about their work can be found in the Children section of the website. There is also detailed information about how worship and prayer is shared in school.

We have four Eucharist Services each year. These happen at Christmas, Lent, Easter and the end of the school year. They are interactive services with space for quiet and reflective prayer. All our pupils receive an individual blessing and everyone is welcome to join us for these special services.

At the start of each school year, we have a Service of New Beginnings to welcome our new cohort into the school worshipping family each year, where each child is presented with a Prayer Book, and our Leavers’ Service at the end of the year, where we celebrate the achievements of our Year 6 leavers, moving onto the next stage of their life journey, where each child is presented with a Youth Bible.

Worship

Our worship in school is based around Christian Values and how they impact our daily lives. The children and staff are encouraged to think and reflect on their behaviour towards others in everything we do. We acknowledge to the children that we, as adults, do not get it right all the time, and model strategies of courage, forgiveness and friendship using the Bible to underpin our decisions.

We explore a different Christian Value in more depth each half term, and classes, in turn give the rest of the school activities and reflections to discuss and contemplate, before performing their class worship, bringing together all of our learning.

Prayer

We recognise the power of prayer and the comfort it brings. It is a time of quiet contemplation, a time to ask forgiveness, a time of peace and a time to reflect and be thankful. We respect the diversity of our school community, but come together in prayer. Each day, our children and staff are encouraged to think of someone they know, or someone in the wider world who needs an extra blessing that day for some reason.

There are prayer request books in the hall, and in each classroom for everyone to write their prayer requests, should they wish to. Each day, prayers are said particularly, for those people.

Please let us know if you would like us to pray for someone or something in particular by submitting an email using the contact form below.
