British Values

Promoting fundamental British Values
In accordance with the DfE we aim to promote British Values actively in our school to prepare our children to leave school prepared for life in Modern Britain.

All our School Community are encouraged to have respect for the faiths, races and cultures of others, and whilst different people hold differing view and opinions, all people living in England are subject to its law.

The Key Values are:

· Democracy

· Rule of Law

· Individual Liberty

· Mutual Respect

· Tolerance for those of different faiths and beliefs

We promote British Values in a variety of ways. Here are some of them:

· Democratically elected School Council

· Raising money for a variety of causes

· Remembering the heroes who died for our country

· Devising class charters at the beginning of each year

· Through our RE and PSHE curriculums, through Circle time and studying a non-Christian faith in RE

· Regular use of Picture News, which has a link to a British Values discussion each week

· Being a good Sportsperson, respect the rules and be a good team player
